The way the brain is wired, we only see outside of us what we first believe is accurate and true (click here).  It is why believing is seeing and not the other way around.  With every golf shot we hit, feelings of confidence and success are internal mind states that must be felt long before optimal physical performance can even take place (the popular notion that improved performance leads to improved confidence is a misguided approach at best). The bottom line is we have to learn to feel internal success before external results can come our way, which is why a consistently grumpy mood will only allow us to consistently see golf shots of the grumpiest and most ornery kind.
